#EmployeeVoices - Purchasing Controller
We sat down with our Purchasing Controller Nils Thorgren the other day to chat about what he does on a day-to-day basis at Voi and his love for outdoor activities. Let's tune in!
So Nils, what do you do at Voi?
I joined Voi and the Central Operations team in October 2020 and now I’m working as a Purchasing Controller. My main focus and goal is to make sure that we have the right spare parts in the right locations - at the right time. We want our fleet and scooters to give our riders the best experience and availability - always with sustainability in mind. :)
What’s extra special about Voi, to me, are the colleagues and the team spirit. It’s great to work with such a inspiring crowd of people that all believe in the future of micromobility.
What’s a challenge you enjoy facing at work?
A challenge I do enjoy is to make sure that we always have what's needed and requested for our fleet, in order to be the safest possible! For example, it hasn't always been the easiest to ensure that spare parts are delivered in time during the longer lead times due to the pandemic - but I like a good challenge.
We heard you have quite an active lifestyle? Tell us about it!
Yup, I’m an active person for sure who likes to be outdoors with friends and family. I also have my fellow, my dog Bud, a Miniature American Shepherd. We spend a lot of time in nature. I love skiing, cycling, running, etc. Last September I did “Vättenrundan”, a 315 km cycling competition. I also have a solid interest in photography and HiFi music. There are no shortcuts to the perfect sound!
Let’s say we invited ourselves over to you this weekend. What would be on the three-course dinner menu?
To keep it simple, I'd probably take you to my favorite restaurant around the corner. We'd have oysters as a starter, followed by a good piece of meat, and end the dinner with a double espresso and a chocolate truffle. Classic and tasty! Then we'd end the day at my place listening to some nice music - a perfect evening according to me.
