#EmployeeVoices - Lead Supervisor
"In 2018, I was a backing vocalist at Mariah Carey’s Christmas Tour". 🎤 In this week's #EmployeeStories, you'll hear from our Lead Supervisor Natasha Rochester about her role at Voi and her multiple talents - supervising our fleets on the streets in the UK, being a worship leader at a church, and more. Let's tune in!
Natasha, what do you do?
I’m a supervisor to Fleet Generalist and City Keeper teams across a few UK cities. This means I’m responsible for capturing the different types of street/rider/parking activities in these markets and flag the positives and areas of improvement so we can all adopt best practice across cities. For example - it could be about identifying, reporting and solving clutter issues and providing feedback to the teams on what's happening from the ground, as well as providing solutions.I’m also a mother by night and day, singer by night and weekends, friend, partner, cleaner, cook… You name it 🤣 .
What drove you down this career path?
Anything that is people-centered and that allows me to be autonomous in my role is where I naturally gravitate to. I don't like to say I necessarily have or am on a career path. My main mission in life is to be a good person and to leave a positive memory with anyone that I cross paths with. I measure the success of life on the lives I've positively impacted.
The main reason I chose Voi is that I believe in what the company stands for: A greener future for transport and pioneering e-bikes and scooters as a response to the need for cleaner air and more efficient ways of travelling - especially in busy cities. Voi was a natural choice because I know we share the same vision and values.
Tell us about a challenge you’ve faced at work and how you overcame it?
During the spring and summer months, there tends to be many outdoor festivals, marathons and local events - requiring lots of immediate actions and responses from my side. I remember a large event taking place in Bristol in 2021. I was the only supervisor on shift that day and I had to make several real-time decisions and liaise across the business to pull in support from the 3PL, rangers, and also liaise with the event organizers, making sure, among many things, that scooters were reparked and rebalanced as quickly as possible.
Tell us something not many people know about you?
I'm a worship leader at church, I toured the UK with Sister Act - The Immersive Cinema Experience, and sang as a backing vocalist for Mariah Carey’s Christmas tour in 2018.
What’s your favourite country to visit, and why?
Did somebody say Raki 🤣 if you know, you know!! I LOVE Turkey.... Lovely people, fresh food and fantastic conversions. I have great memories of holidays there with my family and friends. There's also the guarantee of warm weather and sunlight, and the endless list of excursions - so there's never a dull moment.
