#EmployeeVoices - Fleet Optimisation Associate
For this week’s #EmployeeStories, we met up with Karolina Lindvall and talked about her role as a Fleet Optimisation Associate, her favourite place to Voi, what she looks forward to the most this summer, and more. Let’s tune in! 🎤
What do you do as a Fleet Optimisation Associate at Voi?
In Fleet Optimisation we work centrally to identify the needs an e-scooter has, and ensure they are acted on. This includes deciding when to charge, move and repair a scooter, so the scooters on the streets are ready and safe for rides to use. In my role, I work a lot with data analysis and collaborate closely with market and product teams in identifying, developing and rolling out new features.
What’s the best thing about your role?
One thing that stands out for me is that I get to experience the improvements we make instantly in real life. As someone who rides Voi a lot, I get to see the features we implement in practice everyday - It’s a great feeling to see immediate value from the work we put in.
If you were given a free Voi ride right now, where would you go?
I would Voi to Södermalm in Stockholm, and enjoy an iced coffee in the sun and go for a walk. I’m moving to Södermalm after this summer, so I’m already now scouting nearby cafés and restaurants. When on a Voi, you see a lot on the way to your destination, so it’s the perfect mode of transportation when getting to know an area!- What do you look forward to the most this summer?
After five years of studies coming to an end, I’m very much looking forward to some time off. I’m going to Italy with some friends from university as a graduation trip, which I’m looking forward to a lot. We’re going to Toscana, so hopefully loads of amazing food, beautiful nature, nearby vineyards, and possibly Voing around some of the nearby cities.
Lastly, what’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
I started at Voi one and a half years ago as a part-time intern and I’ve also worked in other intern roles before. One piece of advice that I’ve gotten from friends and people around me is that during interviews and internships, it’s as much you that is evaluating the company as the company is evaluating you. Interviews and short-term positions are great ways of getting to know a company and deciding if it’s what you want to do in the longer term. Luckily, Voi was a great fit for me, and I’ll be starting full time in August.
