#EmployeeVoices - Data Platform Engineer
We’re thrilled to welcome and introduce Gabrielle Dolinder (Gabby), the newest addition to our team of Data Platform Engineers. When Gabby chose to join Voi just two months ago, it was the technical challenge that excited her the most; to be part of building a platform as a service (PaaS), in other words, the designing and developing of scalable and flexible solutions that empower users across the organisation.
We asked Gabby to share some quick facts about herself:
I’m a Swedish native but spent the first 16 years of my life in Italy. My parents relocated to Rome for work when I was only six months old, but I moved back to Sweden when I was about to finish the gymnasium and start studying at the university.
I pursued Computer Science at the University of Skövde and discovered my love for data in the statistics and database management courses there. Prior to joining Voi, I worked as a data analyst, a database engineer and a data engineer at several different companies. A product manager I used to work for, Ele-Kaja G. , once shared a valuable piece of wisdom that continues to inspire me, she said, ‘Never compare yourself with others, only with yourself. Everything you know how to do now, did you know those things a year ago? A month ago? A week ago?’.
I love to cook! I especially enjoy cooking European, Japanese and Korean dishes from scratch (I can spend three days cooking a good bowl of ramen); I butcher and smoke my own meat, ferment my own kimchi and sauerkraut and bake gluten-free sourdough bread.
We happen to know that Gabby is also a dedicated pole dancer (and instructor, too!), preparing for the Swedish National Championships. In addition to that, she’s into sewing, knitting, woodwork and leatherwork. Quite an enthusiast, to say the least.
