Supplier Quality Management Engineer
YOUR MISSION AT VOI
As a Supplier Quality Management Engineer in the Vehicle & QA team at Voi, you will be the key link between our suppliers and our European engineering, product and operations teams. You will oversee production at supplier sites from incoming quality control (IQC) to end‑of‑line (EOL) inspection, and play a critical role in securing a safe, reliable and high‑quality fleet of micromobility vehicles and parts. You will report into the Vehicle QA team and work closely with Procurement, Vehicle Hardware, R&D, Firmware/Software, Supply Chain and market teams across Europe.
You will also play an active role in identifying and evaluating suppliers for parts, working closely with Procurement to source suppliers, request and compare quotations, and support supplier selection decisions.
In this role you will:
Oversee day‑to‑day production at supplier sites, from IQC to EOL inspection.
Identify quality issues in production and aftermarket, lead structured root cause analysis, and define, follow up and verify corrective and preventive actions together with suppliers.
Travel to supplier sites (often for extended periods) to work hands‑on on the line, flag issues to Voi management, and build strong, long‑term relationships with supplier teams.
Travel to Sweden and other European locations around 2 times per year to collaborate closely with Voi teams and understand how your work impacts our ~100 operating cities.
Search for, identify and evaluate new suppliers for micromobility vehicles parts, including technical assessments and quality‑focused audits.
Work with suppliers so that they can provide a quotation based on Voi part requirements and their own engineering solutions, ensuring quality, cost and lead time are balanced.
WHAT YOU NEED TO EMBARK
You are a hands‑on, driven engineer who enjoys being on the factory floor as much as in meetings with cross‑functional stakeholders. You communicate clearly across cultures, build trust with suppliers, and are motivated by solving complex quality problems that directly impact safety, reliability and customer experience.
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, ideally Mechanical or Electrical (or equivalent practical experience).
Strong experience working with suppliers in China, including on‑site presence in factories and workshops.
Experience collaborating with Western (European or North American) teams and working across functions such as project management, vehicle hardware, test & verification, R&D, firmware/software, procurement and supply chain.
Proven experience leading hands‑on root cause analysis on assemblies and processes, and driving mitigation, corrective and preventive actions through to verified results.
Experience working with DFMEA and PFMEA in a manufacturing or product development context.
Excellent problem‑solving skills; being data driven and comfortable working with tools such as SQL is a strong plus.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Chinese.
Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and stay structured in a fast‑moving, scale‑up environment.
Strong drive to reach the end goal of a safe, reliable and useful product for Voi and our riders, and genuine enjoyment of collaborating with suppliers and teams across the organisation.
Don’t meet every requirement? If you are excited about this role and our mission, and have relevant, transferable skills, we encourage you to apply – even if you don’t check every box.
